Grain and sheep farming town on the main eastern highway established in 1894
with the arrival of the railway. It was gazetted as a town in 1906.
Places to visit include the Cundedin Museum, the lookout and the replica Ettamogah Pub.
The pub is a replica of one featured in a weekly cartoon by the late Ken Maynard. It
was a popular feature of the Australian Post magazine. There are 5 replicas. One each at Sydney and Albury
in New South Wales, one near Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast, and this one and another at Morley in Western Australia.
They function as any other hotel although the one at Albury is temporarily closed. (2014)
