Centre of the Murchison Goldfields in its heyday it boasted a population around 10,000.
Gold was found here in 1892 and
the first claim was registered by Tom Cue, from where the name originated.
It was gazetted as a town in 1893.
Diggings are still visible around the town which preserves much of its pioneering past.
The old gaol and police station, complete with accessories, is much as it was when it was abandoned.
Cue is registered as a 'town of significant historical value' by the National Trust.
