Roadhouse on the Nullarbor Plain between Cocklebiddy and Eucla offering fuel and food.
A scenic lookout is 2km west with views of the Madura Pass. It is close to the Great Australian Bight
and cliff views can be seen with occasional blowholes at high tide.
It was settled in 1876 to breed quality cavalry horses for the British
Indian Army for use in the Northwest Frontier region of India.
Horses were shipped from Eucla to Madura which was chosen as one of the few places along the plain with
free flowing bore water.
Madura Station is currently a sheep station, but was previously used to graze cattle, horses and camels.
