This small town is at the north eastern end of the Yengo National Park on the southern fringe of the Hunter Valley Wine Region. Scenic drives and walks. There are some fifty nearby wineries. Situated on the banks of the Wollombi Brook it lies below the massive escarpment of Yellow Rock at the centre of a dairy and wine region and was first settled in 1824, one of the first settlements in the valley.
