Once voted Western Australia's best tourist destination Dunsborough is on the
southern shore of Geographe Bay. It was named after Captain Richard Dunn by
Governor Stirling and land for a townsite was set aside in the late 1830s.
There is plenty of accommodation here including several resorts, and the main street
has plenty of cafes and coffee lounges. Water activities are the main attraction and
it lies at the northern end of the Margaret River Wine Region with Cape Naturaliste
and the lighthouse to the west.
