Corio Villa - Geelong

The interesting and attractive Corio Villa in Geelong

Classified 'C' by the National Trust, this is an unusual pre-fabricated iron building imported from Glasgow and erected in 1856.
The components for the building lay unclaimed and were eventually sold to Alfred Douglass who put the 12mm. (1/2 inch) iron sheets together without construction plans. For this reason it is also known as the 'Jigsaw House'.
It offers extensive views across Corio Bay and the harbour to the You Yangs and the Brisbane Ranges.
It is located in Brougham Street and is a private residence.
