Railton is located south of Devonport on the road to Sheffield and Cradle Mountain and at the junction of the B13 between Elizabeth Town and Devonport. A significant sized town it has a large quarry nearby which is a source of materials for the Portland Cement Company which manufactures there. The main street contains several shops and an art gallery and, being only 23km from Devonport, Railton offers quiet rural living with all facilities only 20 minutes away.
