The aptly named town of Beauty Point is renowned for its fishing and aquatic leisures and is the
location of the first deepwater berths on the Tamar River. Home to the Australian Maritime College where 100 live-in students reside while studying world recognised seamanship and fisheries courses. The world class Australian Maritime College was built in place of the old Beauty Point wharf. The town boasts a wonderful modern marina, spectacular scenery and the amazing Seahorse World. A new attraction opened in 2004 is the Platypus House, adjacent to Seahorse World. A ferry service operates from Beauty Point across the Tamar to George Town. PLACES OF INTEREST:
