Musswellbrook was surveyed and laid out in the 1830s and is now at the centre of a large and
diverse agricultural, open-cut mining, livestock and wineries region. There are many large and beautiful homesteads in the town and elaborate civic buildings, including the restored railway station, originally opened by the Earl of Belmore in 1869. There are several well established horse studs around the mansions. Martindale, Pickering, Edinglassie and Merton enjoy world recognition as do many of the wineries in the vicinity, amongst them, Rosemount Estate, Arrowfield, and the Cruickshank Callatoota Estate. South-west is the Wollemi National Park. PLACES OF INTEREST: ACCOMMODATION & SERVICES: |
