The Yarangobilly Caves are located in the Kosciuszko National Park, 6.5km. off the Snowy Mountains Highway between Tumut and Adaminaby.
Formed in a belt of limestone laid down some 440 million years ago they are the most beautiful in Australia. Three of the caves, the 'South Glory', 'Jersey' and 'Jillabenan' caves are open to the public with regular guided and self-tours daily except Christmas Day.

The South Glory Cave is less than 100,000 years old and dwarfs visitors with its lofty chambers. It is the youngest of the Yarongobilly Caves first explored in 1834. The south cave contains massive decorations and vast rockpiles. Interpretive boards and automated feature lights allow the visitor to explore this cave at their own pace on a self-guided tour.

The Jersey Cave offers a rare display of black and grey flowstones and is home to some of the most diverse cave decorations of the system. Dated ftrom some 700,000 years ago it features Cleopatra's Needle, a 4 metre stalacmite reaching nearly to the cave ceiling.

The Jillabelan Cave is the smallest but dates back some 200 million years and features delicate formations including Straw Stalactites, Cave Corals and helictites.
