The Sydney Entertainment Centre is one of Australia's largest, busiest and most versatile indoor arenas. Opened in May, 1983 at Darling Harbour by the NSW Government, it is operated by Arena Management Pty Ltd.
The award-winning facility has a reputation for hosting some of the biggest names in entertainment.

Averaging an attendance of 1 million people each year, it provides seating from an intimate setting of 500 people to a maximum of almost 12,000.
Primarily recognised as a venue for concerts, family shows and sporting events, the centre also stages conferences, seminars, product launches and elaborate banquets.

Town Hall and Central rail stations are the closest to the Centre. From Central walk through Belmore Park, down Hay Street across George St to Harbour St.
From Town Hall walk south down George St, right at Goulburn Street to Harbour St.
Buses along George St will drop passengers near Hay Street which leads to Harbour St.
The monorail stops at the Haymarket Station adjacent to the Centre.
Parking is available in the many car parks situated around the Darling Harbour and Haymarket precinct. Nearest parking is available at the Convention and Exhibition Centre car park and the Wilson Entertainment car park located on Darling Drive just north of the venue.

A variety of artists have performed at the centre such as Queen, Shania Twain, P!nk, Ray Charles, Janet Jackson, Metallica, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue, AC/DC, Van Halen and Coolio and major productions like and Disney on Ice.
The centre is also the home stadium for the Sydney Kings basketball team, with sports such as boxing, tennis and indoor motor-cross also held there from time to time.
The centre was the venue for the volleyball tournaments at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
