Bribie Island is one of several islands off the coast around Brisbane and can be reached by car
via Caboolture across a 1km. bridge which crosses Pumicestone Passage. Mainly residential, the
island is around 31 km long and 3 wide with the northern tip being opposite Caloundra on the
Sunshine Coast. There are 3 main towns, Bellar, Woongim and the largest, Bongaree. Activities include bush-walking, fishing and swimming and there is plenty of accomodation on the island with 2 hotel/motels, 2 motels and 6 caravan/camping parks. PLACES OF INTEREST:
