Amelia Kunoth (1880s - 1984) - The Kunoth Clan

A part aboriginal, part European girl, Amelia married Harry 'Trot' Kunoth, a linesman at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station.
They managed several stations including Bond Springs, Hamilton Downs, north of Alice Springs and Tempe Downs to the south. Amelia grew up at the Telegraph Station and was employed as a nursemaid by Station Master, Tom Bradshaw, to help tend his children.

Amelia was survived by 8 children.
Lorna, Alan, Sydney, Edward, Henry, Charles, Lilian and Rosemary.
Rosalie, the daughter of Alan and his wife Ruby starred as Jedda in Charles Chauval's film of the same name filmed around the Katherine Gorge. Rosie, now Rosie Kunoth-Monks married Bill Monks in 1970.
Lilian married Stan Kitson and for many years in the 1970's they ran the Elliott Hotel before their marriage split up and Lil moved to Tennant Creek, she passed away a few years ago.
Danny Kunoth ran Mount Ebenezer Station south-west of Alice Springs in the 1970's and was involved with the launching of the Finke Desert motorcycle race.
